You may have more luck in the larger Europe forum since Switzerland has not yet geographically relocated to Scandinavia just yet.

Transportation in and around ZRH by public transport is what I continue to do. That said, there are areas beyond ZRH where driving your own car is something that I have certainly enjoyed.

Hotel recommendations depending on your desired price point. I have noticed that Priceline can provide good value for ZRH and one often ends up with the Marriott or the Mercure (the latter is a bit out of town but still convenient enough via tram).
