(OT) Why do people still ask about your school?

Boys and Girls,

Knew this would be the place to ask this question.

Bit of background about me first; State primary and secondary schools, then went on to "Redbrick" Uni..and came out with a tutu.

Went out for lunch today on a date, with a young lady.

Not going to spill many beans..but to say she was stunningly attractive, very intelligent, great company.

Has a job which many of us would love to do, suffice to say she has the most forward right hand seat on a A319. Like me been to uni, but also went to a private school.

Chatting away, everything is going really well, talk about uni...work etc.....

One question really stood out " So what school did you go to in <insert 2018's home town here>"

Me "just went to my local comp"

her "oh"

So why do people who have been privately educated, have been to uni, been in a job for ten years...still ask people about what school they went to?

Dont ask about grades at a-level, what you got at degree level...just want to know what school you went to ?

So could one of our chino, light blue shirt, navy jumper brigade...please enlighten me?

Cheers

2018
