On my last TWO visits to Florence, I was never able to locate TABASCO!

In Rome, there are a couple of strange non-descript bars in the Trastevere area as well. I'd rather just hang out near Piazza Navona and oggle the straight guys...I think there were plenty of fun people in the clubs and bars around there (with great music), regardless of orientation.

Trust me, Venice is no better for gay bars/clubs than either Rome or Florence--but I love going back for everything else that makes it my favorite country to visit!
