Trip Report (short) - Sheraton Studio City
I have just checked in at the Sheraton Studio City and am writing this from the highspeed internet access in the room.
Upon checkin I was greated with a platinum amenity of mineral water and a jar of jelly beans. My Platinum status was recognized and I was given a room on the top floor with access to the club room.
Entering the lobby I was skeptical, but soon realized the theme is studio/film making, and can see how that ties in to its extremely close proximity to Universal Studios. The hallways and elevator seemed to have been recently upgraded as the place smelt and felt very new (even though the hotel itself has been in Orlando for over 20 years. The elevators walls are mirrors and seem very nice. To get to the top two floors (20 & 21) a key is required. The club floor and SPG floors are designated by signs and the access key.
The room seems to also have been updated. The furniture is very new and the bed is a sweet sleeper and the comforter is new as well. There are no problems with the drapes (they close and open as normal). Someone mentioned a problem with this in an earlier post but I don't see any problem.
Overall this hotel would be a good choice for a tirp to take your kids to the parks.
The only downside: The work out room is small (1 tred mill, 1 bike, etc).
Hope this helps.
