Yes, you could certainly do JFK-HKG-SYD on CX using a Oneworld award (again the All-Parnters would be two separate awards if doing this). Even so, awards in F can be hard to come by, but you have a much better chance than on QF!

Note that BOS-SYD is just over the 20k mile zone for Oneworld awards; JFK-SYD is just under 20k mile return; only 180K in F instead of 230k. (but that could give you an extra 5k miles to play with, you could get an extra trip somewhere, eg. BOS-BGI-JFK-SYD-BOS, or a stopover in HKG. BOS-HKG-SYD-BOS and still have ~3k miles left in the zone.
