As much as I enjoyed our stays in Osaka and Tokyo back in October, this was an issue of contention. I called ahead of time and spoke with front desk staff at both properties.......and I asked again when checking in on the club floor. I was told at both properties that they would credit ALL room charges towards SPG points.

We had significant "other" charges........several all day drivers-and-car, transfers, bullet train tickets, etc. Combined charges of several thousand dollars. Later was told sorry.....must have been a communications error.....language barrier.......at both hotels. I specifically booked things thru the hotel to take advantage of the points, and probably even spent a bit more money to do so thru the hotel, so I could get those points.

Nevertheless, at least I knew that everything else would be handled perfectly since the hotels took care of the arrangements.
