This looks like a "penny-wise, pound foolish" deal to me?

Once you get to Papeete, then it's a $160-a-night hotel to stay on the main island, and if you want a nice cheap 100 € a night hotel you have to go to Bora Bora, which is an additional $264 r/t plane ticket away. You've spent half as much again as you did to get there in the first place. Ouch ...

(Until I saw this, I was pondering a 12/28-1/9 trip to Costa Rica, for $506 all-in vs. $552.50, and I bet accomos are cheaper than 100 € a night )

Edit: My best friend (who's been there) said if you aren't coupled, you really shouldn't go to Tahiti/Bora Bora. (I was, until last month, but am not now.)
