I temporarily lose custody of a bag about 1% of the time. My home is 70-90 miles from the airport. So far, DL and US haven't flinched when I ask them to deliver to my home, although I'm sure they'd rather I came back to the airport to pick it up. Usually the bag is delivered by a college kid, once by a cab driver and once by a cop in uniform at 3:00 am!
