You have my utmost envy. I tried to VDB on thanksgiving sunday from LHR to ORD, but other 1K (I was still 1P at the time) have taken the 800 bucks for VDB. But I was "asked' to be in C instead so I was happy.

Double upgrade once happened to be in June when I was flying ORD-NRT all the way to SIN. I VDB to later flight on 883 (which only left 50 minutes later than 881). 881 was oversold and I was in C. I told the agent that I would take the later flight on 883 in exchange for F seat for C seat on 881. She's like sure and there was my first international F BP! I thought it was enough for compensation and was too much to ask for VDB voucher or anything more. Plus I had to be in SIN on schedule.

As for tomorrow, it looks to be a zoo in ORD for flights to NRT. Everything oversold, even in C by 7 on 881. 883 is also oversold completely! I guess now that I am a 1K and am very flexible tomorrow, I guess I can try again at VDB. In'challah!
