Her party was the last to board the plane and there was only one seat remaining in F. A 1K passenger (had a 1k luggage tag) actually gave up his First class seat and went back to Economy so that Coach and Michelle could sit together. FWIW, I think she just won a skating competition in Boston that day.

Believe me, my husband has to do some serious persuading to get me to sit in F on a paid ticket, or to use upgrade instruments on a short flight or plane with a sub-par F product.
