I certainly hope not.

Used to be almost any gate agent would put any passenger in the Premier Zone (later EconomyPlus) in response to "do you have any seats further up," asked with a smile. Now that they sell these seats, they cannot give them away for free except when they have to (i.e. when E- is full).
