here, and for 99.99% of people it is, I agree, clear. For me (or at least to me) it's not. I've had to deal with these issues with 3 separate governments who all have slightly different definitions (and no guide for how they should interact) for the last year and it's still not all that clear to me.
Given that the link above is for CBSA, it is also not clear to me that the definition would be the same as the CRA definition which I have linked, which has actually been established by rulings and not legislation (e.g. Income Tax Act) (I'm not a lawyer, so sorry if my terminology is off).
If you have a link to a clearer definition then it would actually be a great help to me in RL.
Edit: I just read the specific car regulation and it VERY briefly defines resident, in a way that is clearly different from CRA. I now know how it affects me, and I wouldn't be considered resident under *this* rule.
