So actually both pronounciations are correct. The first is correct for British English and the second for American English!
Rough Guide to Kenya (not that it is a great linguistic authority in my eyes) suggests that, ethymologically, Keen-ya is closer to the roots, although, as the book admits, it is often derided as a pretentious faux-upper-clarse effort on behalf of the people who have a misplaced fondness for a "colonial life". Not something that the Rough Guide would endorse, naturally
