Again, this was a BA promo available with all the major hotel chains; it was not a Marriott promo nor unique to Marriott. I would guess your question would be better asked on the BA board, although I do not believe this is an annual BA promo. BA does have an annual promo (it's not referred to as annual; but it occurs every summer) with Diner's Club. Instead of the usual 1 to 1 trade of points for miles, you get a 50% premium.
