I looked into competing programs late last year and these web sites confirm my findings - DL has BY FAR the most lucrative program for CONFIRMED upgrades. AA’s 4 x 500 mile segment upgrades per 10K miles flown for their equivalent of DL Platinum – what sort of joke is that? Otherwise you'll get upgraded 100 hours prior to flight if you pay full fare!!! While many tell me AA upgrade their high-elite fliers at the airport on many occasions, that can be a real crap shoot. As a DL PM, I know I’m upgraded when I book the flight 90% of time. OK, so it has to be a "K" fare or above, but most times that fare is only a few bucks more than the "L" fare.

I also have had little trouble in getting award tickets out of DL. I got three RT tickets from FLL-DEN in February but little or no fuss and without having to invoke Skychoice.. (This is normally a tough trip – people want to go both places in Winter!)

I don’t think you’ll find anything as good as the PM benefits. Now if only DL would sort out their crappy alliance to get us some decent flights to Asia, I’d be a happy camper.
