I think the main problem will likely be from YYZ to YYT, rather than the reverse. I think the alternate for YYT is usually YHZ, so not all that close. I'm not sure what the load factors would be on a route like YYZ-YQR, but I know that all the flights YYZ-YYT leading up to Xmas will be very full, and most folks will have lots of luggage.
According to Mrs. SD, there was a story on the CBC local news this evening about the luggage problem. Still nothing on the CBC NL web site.
