Will United change my itinerary without a change fee as my flight is oversold ? I feel they should not charge me a chage fee as they are going to benefit by selling tickets at $420. Has anyone done this before..? I just called up the United customer service and the agent told me that she has no way of making this change. Should I ask for a supervisor to make this change?

No, this will not work. Being "oversold" by two is not really being oversold. The average no show factor is 14%, and I am sure this flight is still selling seats. They typically don't change it unless it is severly overbooked. For example, I recently had a domestic flight which was switched from a 747 to an A320, resulting in an overbooking of 150+. They allowed me to change it ahead of time, and gave me an upgrade to the First Suite on the next 777 out.
