Changing itinerary without change fee when sold-out
Hi folks,
I am currently on flight from SFO to SEA on Dec 23. This flight is oversold by 2 seats now. As we approach the holidays, I presume this flight will be oversold by more seats. My flight is priced at $420 right now. I am thinking of taking an earlier flight on Dec 22 which is priced at $340.
Will United change my itinerary without a change fee as my flight is oversold ? I feel they should not charge me a chage fee as they are going to benefit by selling tickets at $420. Has anyone done this before..? I just called up the United customer service and the agent told me that she has no way of making this change. Should I ask for a supervisor to make this change?
