There's an amazing selection of sake ceramics available in Kappabashi-dori, the famous plastic food/restaurant wholesale street near Asakusa. Much of it is factory-produced bulk, but average mortals -- including most souvenir recipients -- can't tell the difference and a full tokkuri & 5 choko set can go for under Y500. But quite a few stores also have handmade wares, notably Dengama right at the Asakusa-dori intersection, and they're still quite cheap. Better tiptoe carefully if you venture onto the 2nd floor though, it's one of those places where tripping in the wrong place could set you back a couple of hundred thousand yen

As for sake going together with food, old-school Japanese gourmands will tell you that you shouldn't mix rice with rice -- hence (for example) sake and sushi is a no-no.
