In any event (at least other ones), FAs and others -- in positions of "authority" -- have just become more hypersensitive and quicker to shoot first and ask questions later these last few years. No surprise.

At the same time, accountability has decreased -- unless you are a subject.
I am glad Airline Crew have decided to be more active in cabin management. I've seen plenty of examples of situation where a PAX is acting irrationally and FAs have done nothing except "sir, we're going to have to ask you to take your seat, etc." When that doesn't work, what other choice do they have?

Because you are dealing with a sensitive piece of equipment (airplane) and the safety of 100s of people, there has to be a pretty severe "or else" to maintain order. Whether the PAX is drunk, disturbed or just plain mean is pretty much beside the point. If they're out of line, I hope they get called on it. The safety of me and my fellow passengers is on the line.

FAs have an extraordinarily difficult job - I'm glad they have the tools to sanction troublemakers.
