Be careful that your SYD-AKL is not a SmartSaver which can't earn points on UA. Sometimes even Premium Economy or Business Trans-Tasman cost a relatively low surcharge over the Flexi-Saver economy fare.
Though the time I flew AKL-SYD on a smart saver the code came up as "F"
And also don't forget you only get RDMs not EQMs on EK
