I stayed at this hotel in the summer of 2004. There was no high-speed Internet access. As the 800 number for my ISP was quite expensive and I needed to be online for several hours, I ended up purchasing a one-month subscription from Sympatico, an ISP with a local access number. I used the hotel's address for the billing.
They are a member of the Travellers Rewards loyalty program along many 'independant' properties across the country which are owned by CHIP Hospitality. Consumer website is

For a nice hike, cross the highway and go down to the lake via the abandoned ski hills.
The hotel's restaurant/bar were adequate, probably above average for Gander. The (now departed) General Manager told me that the hotel is dead during the winter with only a handful of rooms occupied during the December-February/March seasons. When I was there it was pretty full, but there was some convention going on.
