So at least one possible option for you is to contact Alaska Mileage Plan Department and tell 'em you were doing an end-of-year audit of your account and you noticed that one segment was not posted properly. It just might do the trick for ya'. Hope this helps.

If that's a no-go, try calling AA, and tell them that you thought you should have made GLD, and then when you went back over your records, you saw that AS didn't credit one segment right. Tell them that AS said they can't go back and correct it, but would they take that into account and give you GLD anyways. Again, w/o 25k BIS, nothing is guaranteed, but worth a shot.

Back to the original topic: I would say GLD is absolutely worth it, even if you have to do a MR. Another cheapo is to go to Vegas for a day. However, I was GLD for almost a year before becoming PLT. I am someone who is willing to buy stickers, because I hate sitting in the back. I missed all of one upgrade as GLD. I also liked the fact that I could use the F checkin (or J where there were both), and could get the priority security and exit row seats (the one time I needed it ).
