This is based on past experience.... its always required me to see an agent. I'm also concerned because my ticket now includes an MX segment. I'll definitely try... but recently history tells me this may not work.

Regarding your possible membership in Northwest's World Club, I strongly recommend you check out Priority Pass. Not only will your $399.00 one year membership get you unlimited access to Northwest World Clubs, but you'll also have access to AS, CO, DL, HP, UA and US lounges regardless of whether you're flying that day with the specific airline or not. Only downside is that you'll have to pay for any guests at $24.00 per guest. On a more positive note, you'll have access to huundreds of overseas lounges, including Aeromexico's Salon Premier at Cancun.
I've looked into PriorityPass before, but the guest charges are what kills it for me. I'm often flying with my girlfriend or other guests, and don't want to pony up $24 each time... or ditch them. And after talking with PriorityPass, the guest charge is for EACH lounge visit. So if we enter the AS boardroom, that's $24 for her... then the AM lounges in MEX and CUN would be $24 each! Then the return. They suggested she buy a PriorityPass too.

WorldClubs gets me into NW, CO, DL anytime, AS when flying them, and others depending on location... including most international airports (such as AeroMexico's lounges in MEX and CUN. Up to two guests are free. Not quite as wide sweeping as PriorityPass' locations, but good enough, and it'll cost me much less in the long run. The big downside will be when flying UA.
