I'm sleepy so maybe I missed something but are you checking in to get a boarding pass so that you can get by security? Can't you use online checkin for that? Online checkin is available 24 hours before the flight.

I thought it was posted here before that you can check luggage up to 4 hours before a flight, but I may be wrong.
