There was a big story regarding this in one of the Finnish papers this week, where Finnair representatives stated the reasons for sticking to the MD-11: it's fast and it carries an unbeatable amount of belly cargo - a huge source of profit especially on the Asian routes. Of course the cheap prices for second hand models don't hurt either.
AY has requested Airbus to increase the cargo capacity at least on the A340-300s they are getting to compensate, and Airbus is also experimenting with making the 340/350 somewhat faster as well.
