Selling/smoking pot is NOT legal in Holland. It's tolerated.

At this time there is also some very serious pressure from their European neighbors to forbid foreigners from having the ability to purchase pot when in Holland.

Germany is leading the pack, but France and Belgium are right behind them. I'm not sure if this will get anywhere, but if it does, it may end up with the locals the only ones able to purchase pot in the cafes. Of course, that will start up the criminal element and the black market but that is under consideration AFAIK.

Germany especially has been dealing with bunch of stoned people driving back home and they are not amused.

That said, I had some of the best in AMS
Tonite is the first night of no smoking in wa state. The bars just lost half of their revenue to the (to-go) places and are going to have a revolt. The seattle Chief of police was on the local news. and basically said they wont enforce it. (too busy fighting crime) so in effect we now have another stupid politically correct law on the books. I disagree with your "up at arms....Pack mentality thing. The EU is much more tolerant than what you are saying. Spend some time there. You may end up like me and consider retiring there. The US has lost its mind. MERRY HOLIDAY also dont forget to put your holiday tree in the Christmas tree stand. check the box. Maybe next year a politically correct capitalist will come out with a Holiday Tree stand. and sue every other Christmas tree stand maker. pps If germany is worried about the stoners: it's because they drive to slow
