Recent flew on a 777 and tried to use the powerport. I am not sure if it was a problem with the port or if there was not enough juice but I couldn't use the powerport while I was using the laptop. I have read conflicting posts on this subject. Some have pointed to "draws too much power" while others have suggested that Dell uses a proprietary charging system and the D series requires a Dell brand 12V adapter. I suggest a call to Dell or hopefully a D600 user can post some real-life experience.
