I put both my kids (9 and 13) in UA,

Not had any problem with any fare classes crediting miles and the 9 year old even gets full miles on a Discount Child fare (Even on BD Flights!),

I spoke to UA and explained they were kids and they allow both myself and wife to access the account for the kids etc,

So personally would recommend UA.
