Also, don't forget that UA has the promotion where if you fly extra over the necessary requirements to requalify the 1K's and 1P's will be able to gift 2P status. So if you're a 1P and you flew over 75 EQS or 75k EQM then you can save your 200$ and gift your wife the 2P status using that.
