you are right! The only airline less accommodating that KLM is Air France.

The cancelled my CDG-AMS flight two weeks ago for some reason, and my new CDG-AMS flight was severely delayed due to weather, which would cause me to miss my AMS-ORD connection. I asked to be put on the CDG-ORD nonstop on AirFrance (they're the same airline, after all!), but to no avail.

The customer service agent called her supervisors, who called their supervisors, and in the end they all agreed that "it would be impossible," despite wide open planes.

And I was traveling on a business class ticket, too.
