One of the most turbulent flights was on UA ORD-NRT. About 30 minutes before landing the pilot makes his usual announcement about the flight and the weather in Tokyo/Narita and concludes by saying that there is rain in Tokyo and there have been reports of some bumpy approaches...would the flight attendants conclude there service and be seated for the reaminder of the flight.

Things got wrapped up quickly and everyone was seated and then then chop and bumps started...minor at first and then more severe. Still this did not make me worry it all just seemed routine...the purser began to make her final announcement when we hit some type of air pocket and the 747 just seemed to drop, right in the middle of "we thank you for choosing United...OH MY GOD!...and hope that..." Nothing in my flight experience had gotten my attention as much as the purser actually shouting over the intercom. There were a few laughs...and then everyone seemed to just be quiet.

As we got off the plane there were some jokes as passengers came by the purser and reapeted the "Oh my God!"

One of the bumpiest and most memorable.
