Smile Rose Parade

Hey all,
Is anyone going to the Rose Parade?
For those who have been-- go in person or stay at home?

For those of you who don't know some of the traditions of the Rose Parade, I'll explain the part on Colorado Blvd (the parade route)
--People start arriving the day before at all times. They are only allowed to sit on the sidewalks until the street is closed then they can move to a designated line on the street.
--Colorado Blvd the night before the parade is still open to traffic but the speed limit is drastically reduced to 15mph or less.
--The cars that drive down it better be prepared because as they drive down they are trashed by toilet paper, silly string, marshmallows, wet tortillas, and anything else that will stick, but is not destructive. Cops really keep a tab on that. My favorite was the challenge of dipping marshmallows in hot chocolate enough to get them sticky and then throwing them at cars.
--People honestly come down to the blvd to get their cars filthy. I once unrolled nearly a whole roll of toilet paper by clipping it onto the windshield wiper of an SUV as it drove away.
--There are live bands in parking lots, BBQs, lots of people, but few bathrooms.

If anybody knows of any more please share.

Also, one recommendation that I'll make is try to volunteer to decorate a float at least once. I find it amazing and truly gratifying.

Happy New Year everyone ^
