I agree. You can often guess who the 'legacy' staff are on QF from their attitude and demeanour. I guess it's a hangover from the old days when flying was considered special, crews thought of themselves as being in an elite occuptation, and pax were almost looked down upon.
I guess some of this 'legacy' attitude has been passed down over the years to newer recruits but in my experience it is diminishing. Perhaps it is just the influence of individual CSMs on their crew. On a recent SYD-ADL-SYD day trip, the outward flight seemed very much 'legacy' service, yet on the return leg it was so much friendlier, almost in the mold of a DJ crew. Maybe that was just random but it was quite noticeable.
I don't doubt that part of reason for Jetstar's creation is to institute a new staff culture, not just a new cost base.
