ClassicalGal - If IAH is the big symphony orchestra hall, and Hobby is for Chamber music, what does that make WN?

(couldn't resist!)

As for Australian codes, in the main they make sense...

SYD=Sydney
MEL=Melbourne
BNE=Brisbane
ADL=Adelaide
HBA=Hobart
PER=Perth
ASP=Alice Springs
DRW=Darwin

regional can get kida interesting.. there's DPS (Dempassar, but everyone knows it as Bali), and let's not forget CGK - Jakata!
How about KIX (Osaka).

SGN(Ho Chi Minh) at least makes sense historically (Saigon).

All the Indian ones are out of date now due to the changes (sort of like LED)

eg: BOM (Mumbai)
MAA (Madras)

etc
