LH does indeed have its own gate. Its between AWEST and AEAST, dont know the gate number but the whole area is painted in a yellowish color, like the lufthansa colors. Last time I was connecting I saw the 747 which I guess is a neat thing to see at PHL.
Your wife and sis, will have no bag problems, and its not too bad. From F take the shuttle that goes to C18. Many of those shuttles continue on to A as well. If it doesnt, and you need to get off a C18, grab a cart to drive you all the way to A, even though you can still walk. You got so much time, you could take a nice slow walk. PHL is not that bad by the way!
