The TSA are allowing the airports to contract out the work done at the metal detectors, but they will be in the TSA uniform. SFO have them if I recall correctly. There is a small logo of the contracted company on the arm or chest.
As for CATSA they are truly a bunch of idiots.

The entire system is created to make the one flight per year customer feel like they are protected, those of us who fly often know better.
