Really? How about when you arrive curbside at Changi and you want the porters to wheel your bags to the first class lounge? [PPS tag provides superior identification of elite pax status - not to be confused with flight booking status]

Or, how about when you are in MNL (for example) and the counters run out of stock of First or Solitaire lugguage labels [its happened to me].
