I know what you mean. I am 17,725 miles away from Gold, which is, I realize, pretty damn far away. Nevertheless, the notion of "going for the gold" this year won't leave me alone. The thing is, there's just not enough year left to fit in two, long trips--even if I could find economical fares, which is pretty tough with holiday pricing. Worse, I cannot miss any work and I have holiday parties to attend every weekend--not to mention wanting to stay home for Christmas and New Year's, which are both on weekends. I should give it up.
