So SQ has fifth freedom route authorities on a half-dozen or so routes. Just like UA. Not sure how that changes much.
But seriously, what about addressing the question. If SQ provides the services everyone wants and flies where people need to go, why not just fly exclusively SQ from now on? UA should have been out of business years ago by now if people had done this, right? As I specifically posted many pages ago, the OP did have the option of SQ transatlantic if s/he really wanted that fab SQ service. Yet UA was still chosen. Why?
