Russ,

We all appreciate your presence on this board. Most of us still like Delta, but we're really, REALLY unhappy about the impending and past changes to the SkyMiles program. We don't want to leave, but Delta really does seem to be trying to drive the majority of us away. Benefits dilution, asinine rules being followed to the letter, and the general "The passengers have it too good" attitude is really straining our relationship with Delta.

Simply Good Business may be saving Delta 100 million a year, but how much is it costing them in current and future lost revenue due to irate passengers going to other airlines that DO grant waivers and favors?

You mention how good the PMs have it. The GMs and the SMs really don't have it good, especially with new changes. It's bad enough with the L/U no upgrade policy, but now those few times that we are able to upgrade are being reduced. GM and SM members might not drop as much cash as PM, but we are still talking about a pretty decent amount of Delta spending here by GM and SM. Benefits dilution is not the way to keep people around, as you've probably noticed by the posts on this topic and copiously elsewhere in this Forum.

Again, we do appreciate your presence here and we do, for the most part, like/love Delta. We hope that Delta will recognize this and stop sliding downwards in elite flyer satisfaction. All one has to do to sample the mood of the Delta community is ask (shamelessly plagarized/paraphrased):

"Are you happier now with your SkyMiles benefits than you were 4 years ago?"
