Noone can get 1a/k preassigned in F. They are the bassinet seats for people flying with infants, and these are always held back. You can snag them with OLCI 24 hours prior to departure, with the (albeit slight) risk that someone with an infant or a VIP will boot you out by the time you board. Why not try for a whole row (like row 3) instead?
Rows 2,3,and 4 are already taken (4e/f cant be taken anyway until check in). Only row 5 and 1 now available. Its just bl**dy frustrating having waited for 12 months to just watch all the seats filling up. On our CPT-LHR flight now even row 1 has been taken despite requests also going in for that. The response from BAEC was 'it must be an infant or a medical condition'! So Im looking forward to seeing who's in fact is sat there. If they havent got a broken leg Im going to give the one
