Yeah, good point about Fortress. Back when the Motorola triband was the only triband around (around 1999-2000), I bought a couple for friends at the cheapest shop I could find in Causeway Bay. Both had problems of some sort that only showed up after I returned to the U.S. (the 1900 band didn't work -- hard to test that in HK, eh?). When I returned them on my next trip to HK, the "new" phones also had problems. After that, I bought at Fortress, figuring the extra cost was insurance against the hassle of getting a bad phone. In retrospect, I probably should have found a shop that looked larger and more legit in the first place.
