Immodium Equivalent for "Thimble Bladder Disease"??

Anybody have anything they have found successful when travelling for helping control the need to urinate frequently?

WARNING: "Too Much Information" follows.

Fortunately, in "my friend's" everyday life, he can typically rather conveniently make it to the bathroom at ridiculous 90-minute intervals, necessited by what I call "thimble bladder disease". But when travelling, and esp. when on-board a full "Y" on a 777 across the Pacific, this can be less than comfortable.

On an unrelated but similar note, my friend has found Immodium VERY successful for eliminating bowel movements for many, many hours. Anybody aware of anything akin for short-term treatment of bladder deficiencies.

MY friend has tried Detrol LA w/o any benefit.

NOTE: Please don't chastise me for seeking health input for my friend from a FT forum.

PS(A)--checked out fine...friend has a low number, so he doesn't think that's the problem.
