That's not how I read it. Full Fare J guy was on a seriously delayed flight (117, scheduled for 2:30pm but delayed until 9:00pm) and had obtained a coach seat on 181 (same as the OP's daughter) but was offering $100 for someone willing to trade a business seat for his coach seat on 181.
At least that's how I read it.
