My one suggestion is DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH! While some upgrades have been simply amazing, other hotels don't give much. I've learned from experience if you expect the minimum (check in ammenity) then you'll be pleasantly surprised and thankful when you get more. Also, you don't get to be a bitter old man like me who's disappointed if something's not perfect.
