In Poland (krakow) Yes, there is this winter holiday one speaks of.
The town center is dressed up with shops and xmas decorations up. Looks like a scene from a movie (mostly rminds me of World of warcraft((online game)))
but the shops sell everything from santa hats to warm blankets and rugs to other winter things like oversized lolly pops of xmas trees and good ol' gynance (its a warm, spicy red wine. warms you up.) this is till after xmas, i believe. The town center is already dressed up. Beyond that, just a lot of site seeing.
