Looking for suggestions, where the room for a Plat could be something special. Places my wife and I like to travel regardless are to Europe (particularly in Italy, France, Austria--but others), Hawaii and many of the usual suspects in North America (NY, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, etc)
I have gotten great upgrades as a Plat at these locations:
Westin Rio Mar, Puerto Rico (upgrade to Junior Suite. Great resort!)
Westin Maui (upgrade to Oceanfront Suite on top floor. Excellent all around!)
Sheraton Keauhou, Kona, Hawaii (Big Island) (upgrade to oceanfront, though not a suite. Not a favorite property for various reasons.)
Westin Kierland, Scottsdale, AZ (suite upgrade sometimes. great club lounge.)
Sheraton Wild Horse Pass, Chandler, AZ (suite upgrade most times. great spa facilities.)
W Atlanta (likely upgrade to suite since most rooms are suites.)
Westin Buckhead (upgrade to excellent club level.)
Westin at Our Lucaya (upgrade to oceanfront lanai suite or oceanview tower suite every time. One of our favorite places and a great bargain. I recently got married during a stay here.)
Aladdin, Las Vegas (Upgraded to Strip Suite or Strip View suite every time. Often a bargain priced room. See my reviews and many comments in the Aladdin Master Thread.)
Sheraton Atlanta (upgraded to suite)
