I have no problem with the plastic knives; they work fine. I just think it's funny that anyone would believe you could do more damage to someone with a knife than a multi-pointed (as most are) metal fork. I mean, unless you're planning to saw through someone (with one of those dull metal knives?)... really, a fork would probably create a much-worse wound than a knife, I would think.

What was it, Slaughterhouse 5, I believe, where someone talked about triangular-bladed knives that created wounds that didn't close. I imagine a fork might be similar.

What a pleasant topic of discussion...

(The reality is that nothing, even in terms of airline security, is more important than perception. People perceive knives, not forks, as dangerous. Therefore we ban metal knives and ignore forks. Reality is irrelevant.)
