If you are a HGVC owner be very wary of trading your points for an RCI facility. We have platinium at Flamingo Las Vegas. Once we traded for an RCI timeshare in Naples. The place we stayed was no better than a cheap dive motel. The door didn't shut properly (you had to kick it to open it) and was very dirty. The Management said there was nothing they could do.

This year we made the unfortunate mistake of trading for an RCI property on Marco Island for the 2nd week of December in August. Plane reservations, etc were made. Approx 2 weeks ago RCI called and stated that the property is unavailable due to hurricane damage the property suffered. We asked for another available place. We were told by RCI that since the property was unavailable because of a natural disaster (stated in their rules) that nothing could be done and we would lose our booking fee ($100+) and also our points becuase we had used them to book the property.
